Happy Fourth!

First off: Little Fears.

And second: Ever role-playing a holiday session? I don't mean a special holiday episode (although that's fun, too), I mean, like ever had your characters have a birthday party, an Xmas party, something in which the main conceit of the game wasn't going out and fighting stuff or advancing the plot, necessarily, but just playing through that kind of special event?

I've done this kind of thing on a number of occasions, and my experience has been that a lot of players (though by no means all) really dig figuring out how their characters respond to situations like that, perhaps because it's about 180 degrees off how sessions usually go.

In particular: In my Werewolf: The Forsaken chronicle, the players decided to put some thought into what their characters would get each other for Xmas. It was really a testament to how well-developed those characters were that the gifts were quite well thought-out and appropriate.

How 'bout y'all?
