(no subject)

I was wondering whether people had any sort of opinion on the new Cadwallon game.

I mean, it's Rackham, which means it's gorgeous and you can come from any of the "Confrontation" cultures. And it's $60 American, which is a price tag that definitely keeps it out of my hands, and I'd imagine most gamer types feel the same way.

The only review I've found points out that the book is gorgeous (I'd noticed), poorly organized (this hadn't registered), and that they shoot themselves in the foot by having a roleplaying system and then add in more wargame-ish miniatures rules (this sounds like following WotC's lead). But any thoughts about how it plays out?

names reference

For anyone looking for historical names for characters, I just found this digitized book entitled:

A collection of upwards of thirty thousand names of German, Swiss, Dutch, French, and other immigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727-1776 with a statement of the names of ships, whence they sailed, and the date of their arrival at Philadelphia : chronologically arranged together with the necessary historical and other notes : also an appendix of lists of more than one thousand German and French names in New York prior to 1712

The meaty bits (where they actually list names) start on part_02, page 24.
