vampire rpg based on myths

I need new players for the vampire rpg that I'm currently handling. The game started April 04, 2003 and so far we have 14 vampires with 2 of them about to die (because they hadn't posted for 3 weeks and that's as far as my 3 warnings can go).

More info can be found here.

The players are posting regularly but the current problem is, the weight of the politics involved between clans are being washed over. I need players who can actively participate in a loaded game and can write death and politics without a problem.

Any takers?

Cut Scenes

What do people think about the use of "cut scenes" in a RPG? My group is pretty good about distinguishing between OOC and IC, and I think if I describe them vaguely enough, it won't be a problem, but this is the first time I've thought about using them, so advice would be good.

3.5 Animal Empathy/Wild Empathy

They REMOVED Animal Empathy as a skill and made it a Class-Exclusive Ability for Rangers and Druids. What the hell was the point of THAT? I agree that Rangers and Druids should have an automatic affinity for animals, but why can't anyone else??? Of course, they also made it so Rangers and Druids have to have Diplomacy for their Class Ability to work. ...um? If anything, I would have given Rangers and Druids "Wild Empathy" that worked. Period. And made it so that if other characters wanted to mimic it they would have to take Animal Empathy and Diplomacy ranks.... You know?

Ah well, that's all they put in the Dragon mag for me to work from... soooo, I guess I'll wait to see what the books say, in full. Not that I ever used Animal Empathy. But that isn't the point :) I made a character that has Animal Empathy as part of her backstory. It may become key later, but she is in no way a Ranger or a Druid. Nor will she ever multiclass as such.

Just random thoughts during my late lunch.

Gamer Geek Girlfriend

So last night my girlfriend played in her first game ever. All in all I think she did great. It was a Savage Worlds game, and she made a woodswoman (woodslady? female woodsperson? woodland expert? Whatever, she was good in the wilderness) with archery and a sidekick wild dog. She caught onto things very quickly and even had the best line of the night ("I'm going to sleep with your brother's girlfriend before you do.") And unless she was lying out her ass, she had fun. So all in all a good night.

Now we just have to buy her some dice...
