I keep hearing stories or reading entries about people whose combats take an hour of real-time to run. I've never had this experience myself, either as a GM or a player.

So, then:

  1. How long does it take, real-time, to run a combat in your game?
  2. Why do you think it takes so long / goes so quickly?

I've never sat in on one of my games with a stopwatch, so I can't answer my own question yet.
