Gotta tell you. I love it when a player does their research for a role.

For example, I'm running a Deadlands campaign right now. Every other Thursday, in the evenings.

One of my players is playing a Nez Perce shaman, and has done a considerable amount of research on the Nez Perce culture and traditions.

It's really neat to see a player so excited about playing in my game.

And kinda scary -- because I know I'm gonna screw things up.

Geeze, so I open the paper this morning (okay this afternoon) and in the 'cool web site' column they were talking about 8bit theater, which uses old video game characters and puts them in situations. He gets down to (and I quote) "The site also has an advice column for hardcore Dungeons & Dragoners which is pretty funny even for a non-Satan worshipper like myself." Unfortunately this means one of three things:

1) The guy buys into the crap that D&D is only played but Satanists in which case it has no point being printed in the newspaper.

2) This site (which I have not been to yet) perpetuates the idea that all people who play D&D are satanists in which case he should have added something in that says "Not that all D&D players are Satanists".

3) A mixture of both (which is why he doesn't add in the little note).

Either way, I thought this stuff died out in the 80's or early 90's, and I found myself disgusted. I really hope this stuff goes away, just like all of the other stereotypes.

Anyway, I'm exhausted, so I'm going to sleep.
