wondering, curious

Obscure RPGs that are good

There was this ElfQuest RPG that I once owned and ran. At the time I thought it was fairly realistic in how it handled skills and combat, however it was a fairly slow system to run* (maybe a little too detailed). Unfortunately, I don't recall who published it, nor have I really met anyone else (other than those that have played with me years ago) that have played the game.

Anyhow, I was just curious if anyone had any RPGs that they've played that they think is cool, yet aren't commercially successful or well-known. Why did you like it? What did it do well? And any other details you'd care to mention. ^_^

*Maybe it was my junior-high level math at the time, but combat took hours.
