A Setting Not For You

The other day I was sitting here wondering if I could ever get the hang of running a Post-Apocalyptic game of any kind - now I don't mean reconstructica (a term I use to refer to games like RIFTS and Alpha Omega, where the apocalypse happened a long time ago and now there are large pockets of the world where life was actually better than before it all burned), I mean Post Apocalypse - like Tribe 8 or Blood Dawn ...well you get the idea.

And I came to the conclusion that such a setting would be my Achilles heel. I just couldn't ever run such a game properly IMO. Why? Well, I know this might sound odd to you guys, but I can't "imagine" ruin. I can't look at something now and imagine how it will look when somebody breaks it - much less a city or world. And you really need to know how to do that to run P.Apoc. You need to be able to provide a sense of entropy and chaos resplendent.

So, that got me to thinking. What about you guys? Are there any settings or themes (I don't mean SYSTEMS mind you even though new systems often are paired to settings or themes) you just think you could never run properly? I'm also gonna hone the question a little more and ask you not to mix in the settings and themes you dislike. I think there is a difference. I like post apocalyptic, but I can't run it. So I think one is not necessarily the other.
