The basic premise and requirment is 4 players, no more no less.
Survival Horror, where common sense and a quick witt is required to last more than a minute.
Setting 1970 Cambodia. Characters are a pregen mixed company of US Soldiers from three branchs (USCG, US Army and USMC) sent on a secret mission to map tributaries and flood zones within Cambodia along with villages otherwise unknown. Mission begins with 8-12 men until an ambush along a river scuttles the boats and chase the survivors elsewhere.
Their maps, charts and data will be all but useless, left only with the weapons and ammo they were able to swim with and keep from getting damaged, and of course a compass.
The Idea is to have them chased through the jungles by a large NVA patrol, local conscripts and something more sinister.
I have enough historical information laying around to help me with everything else, along with a USCG and Marine vet who can confirm the type of operation I am describing. The jungle and enemy combatants along with the loss of their maps and charts al;ready amp up the paranoia factor about surviving.
What I need is something sutible for them to be hunted by. I have considered all kinds of things, but am unable to make up my mind and am looking for suggestions as to what would be the best suited killer in this enviroment and able to have little trouble with a group of well armed soldeirs. Any info on folklore of the area would also be of help. (Yes, kind of Predator style, but I don't want the enemy to be -that- challenging, not when their are mundane threats around as well)
As far as dificulty level is concerned I want atleast two people to survive the ordeal. I have no problem killing them all off, I jsut want there to be a chance if their clever enough and keep their common sense in check.
Also wondering if Laso wouldn't be a good choice as well. Though less confermation on Laos incursians exist, besides a few Vets..but they weren't exactly told where they were.
