System Shootout 1: Superheroes

I always like to hear people's opinions on what their favorite systems are and why. I've been introduced to more than one new system this way, so I figured what better way to hear about new (and old) systems than start an argument? I'll be posting one of these every few days (or maybe earlier than that, depending on reaction), but let's start with my favorite genre, superheroes.

I've run and played superhero games in several systems (Champions, Villains & Vigilantes, MSH, DCU, Marvel Universe RPG, Silver Age Sentinels, GURPS Supers) and I think I've settled on my favorite in Mutants and Mastermind Second Edition. It's fast, flexible, and has some of the best balance I've ever seen in a supers game, assuming the GM takes a firm hand when necessary during character creation. It could use some more fleshing out in terms of odd power interactions with the environment, but that's the GM's job, right?
